256 Spanaway units, all affordable, to follow land sale

By BRIAN MILLER
Real Estate Editor

Using an LLC, Inland Group of Spokane has acquired a vacant and nearly 18-acre development site in Spanaway, at 19406 Mountain Hwy. E. The builder and developer began planning what it calls Copper Way Apartments early last year. The Pierce County permit process is well advanced for an entirely affordable complex of nine four-story buildings with 256 units. Cushing Terrell is the architect; no start date has been announced, but this year seems likely.

The $4.9 million land sale was recently recorded by the county. Sellers Ocean Park LLC and Rosatto Associates LP acquired the land in 2005 for a little over $2.2 million. Their broker seems to have been Kim Adams at Coldwell Banker, in a deal worth about $6 per square foot. There aren't now any utilities or paving.
