45-story apartment tower has MUP, but no start date

This view looks east on John Street.

Perhaps because it's based in ever-modest Canada, Arbutus Properties doesn't beat its chest or send out a triumphant press release when it scores a major building permit. Thus the master use permit came quietly in March for 1370 Stewart St., where the firm is planning a high-rise apartment tower just south of the REI flagship store in South Lake Union.
