Tacoma landmark changes hands

The Northern Pacific building was constructed before Old City Hall, at left.

Once the regional headquarters for the Northern Pacific Railroad, today known as the One Pacific Building, a 133-year-old Tacoma office building on a very prominent site sold last week for $7 million. Pierce County recorded the sale on Friday for 621 Pacific Ave. That's high on a bluff at the north end of downtown, overlooking Commencement Bay, Highway 705 and the railroad tracks below.
