Near Pike Place Market, L.A. investors seek to sell the Atwood

The building opened as the Afton Hotel in 1909, two years after Pike Place Market was founded.

The saga of 104 Pine St. has entered a new chapter. On the corner of First Avenue, just east of Pike Place Market, the six-story 1st & Pine building has been a hotel, then a SRO hotel, then for decades apartments and now mostly a furnished, extended-stay operation with a few holdout renters.
