Cupcake shop bids adieu to Ballard

SEATTLE — Cupcake Royale will permanently close its location at 2052 N.W. Market St. in Ballard on March 17.

The Ballard spot opened two decades ago in 2004. In an announcement sent to patrons last week, business owner Jody Hall said while the Ballard Cupcake Royale wasn't the bakery's first location, “it was the one that put (them) on the map.”
