A bit more detail about Bellevue Club expansion, with 266 condos in two towers

The two towers would be very prominent to drivers on Interstate 405.

Plans emerged nearly a year ago for a major expansion of the venerable Bellevue Club, to be added on the east side of its property, at 11200 S.E. Sixth St., a little west of Interstate 405.

Dahlin is the architect for a two-tower plan that would add 266 luxury condos over new club facilities and greatly expanded parking. Within the podium, there would be some 1,103 structured stalls, for both residents and guests, up from about 432 surface stalls today. (Future residents would also have 32 bike stalls.) The podium would reach to six stories, topped by a pool and amenities. The north and south condo towers would reach 22 stories.

The project entered design review earlier this month. Per its recent SEPA filings, construction might begin in the fall of next year, then wrap in late 2028.

No general contractor is indicated at this time. The team also includes EA Engineering, SEPA and environmental consultant; Haley & Aldrich, geotechnical engineer; Kimley Horn, civil engineer and transportation consultant; Colin Snowden Palmer, surveyor; Jett Landscape Architecture + Design; WSP, mechanical and electrical engineer; DCI Engineers, structural; Luma, lighting; Tree Solutions, arborist; and Fortune Shepler Saling, elevators.

Old and new construction would be linked by a new central greenspace.

The condos are projected to range from 650 to 2,300 square feet. Layouts are to run from one-beds to three-beds. The two towers would be slightly offset, to create better views. Those are dubbed Baker and Rainier — meaning north and south, respectively. Tower floorplates would have about 26,767 square feet.

The club expansion would span about 44,000 square feet on the sixth floor — meaning a pool, sports court, lounge areas, cafe, etc. A sixth-floor events space would accommodate up to 150 guests. Residents would also have their own private areas on the sixth floor. All that, plus parking and residential amenities, contributes to a total project size of some 985,779 square feet.

Facing west to the existing club buildings would be a new central greenspace with about 15,170 square feet. That would also create a private north-south pedestrian connector leading from Sixth to the Hilton Bellevue.
