SEATTLE — As the DJC reported last Wednesday, the very new Skyglass apartments, at 757 Thomas St. in South Lake Union, sold to an LLC associated with Goldman Sachs. The seller was developer Gemdale USA, which opened the 31-story, 338-unit tower to renters in January. The topline price was nearly $173.8 million, with a personal property deduction of $1.8 million.
On Thursday, Virtu Investments announced itself as an owner with Goldman. Based in the Bay Area, Virtu is familiar with our market. Back in 2021, in separate deals, it paid $218 million for a pair of new Bellevue apartment buildings, the Cerasa and Blu. Those have 289 units.
