Runberg to design 431 affordable units at Mount Baker Station

Four buildings are to rise, in two phases, from east to west.

El Centro de la Raza and Mercy Housing Northwest were selected early this year to develop affordable housing on about 3.3 acres immediately west of Mount Baker Station. The city owns the land, aka the former UW Consolidated Laundry property, and environmental remediation will be required from that past use. (It's on the state Department of Ecology's roster of polluted sites.)
