Holland eyes site for Ballard units

SEATTLE — A clutch of different investors, developers, architects, brokers and landowners have — since 2017 — been floating various hotel and apartment schemes for a row of old Ballard buildings along Northwest Market Street. None has panned out, perhaps owing to some combination of inexperience and financing difficulties.

Now Holland Partner Group, with its considerable clout, is stepping into the fray. With Ankrom Moisan as its architect, it filed an eight-story apartment plan last week for the row anchored by 1740 N.W. Market St. It includes the former Ballard Blossom building.
