Gemdale pulls plug on office project

SEATTLE — As the DJC first reported in March, developer Gemdale USA then secured its master use project for a nine-story office project at 618 John St., dubbed Skyblox. Gemdale subsequently closed its Seattle office, and sold its nearby Skyglass apartment tower at very nice price.

Now the unbuilt Skyblox, and the valuable land beneath it, are on the market. Cushman & Wakefield is offering the half-block property, unpriced. It offers 33,214 square feet. The old 159-room Quality Inn hasn't been demolished there; that permit is still pending.
