SEATTLE — No building plans have yet been filed at 2901 17th Ave. S., where that L-shaped Beacon Hill property was long home to gas stations and finally an auto shop. It's vacant now, owned by a local family, and eventually bound for sale and redevelopment.
First, however, the state Department of Ecology intends to fund the cleanup for the polluted site, a few steps south of Beacon Hill Station. Ecology announced last month that prospective buyer Estelita's Library, a nonprofit, signed a cleanup agreement with the agency. The public comment period ended last week.
