About a half dozen years ago, Manuel Garibay was a founder of prolific local multifamily developer Kamiak. However, just before Thanksgiving, Urban Renaissance Group announced that he's joining the firm as chief investment officer. New CEO Matt Simo said in a statement, “Manuel brings a truly impressive and diverse expertise in investment, development and asset management, particularly in our target markets.” URG is known more for offices than apartments, but Garibay also has a background with Blackstone's EQ Office platform. He said, “I'm excited to bring my expertise to a company with such a strong reputation and look forward to playing my part in driving its strategic growth and delivering value for its partners.”
