Nonprofit nabs housing site in Tacoma

TACOMA — A possible future affordable housing site, at 1105 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, sold in two recent deals worth over $4 million.

The buyer, Homestead Community Land Trust, held a press conference last week to announce the purchases, which came in December and early January. Pierce County recorded the sales separately. Public records indicate a $4.2 million loan from the Washington State Housing Finance Commission.
