Extension proposed for MFTE program

SEATTLE — The city of Seattle's Office of Housing (OH) is preparing legislation to extend the Multifamily Property Tax Exemption (MFTE) Program 6 through March 2026.

The legislation will enable OH to accept new MFTE applications after the current sunset date of March 31, 2025 without interruption. The legislation will also allow multifamily property owners with MFTEs expiring at the end of 2025 to seek a 12-year extension of their property tax exemptions.
