The corner site was once home to Cherry Hill Baptist Church.

Workforce housing specialist Great Expectations began planning what's now known as Acer House about four years ago. Following a contract upzone, the master use permit came in late 2023 for the 114 apartments proposed at 2210 E. Cherry St., on the corner of 23rd Avenue.
