State has new laws for landmarking

OLYMPIA — In May, Gov. Bob Ferguson signed into law new legislation that affects the designation process for historic landmarks by cities in Washington.

The new law requires the consent of an owner to nominate certain properties for landmark designation; before, owner consent was not required.
