Gemdale mulls SLU apartments

SEATTLE — As the DJC first reported last fall, Gemdale USA then abandoned its Skyblox office plan, at 618 John St. The half-block scheme, designed by LMN, had its master use permit, but the post-pandemic market proved fatal.

Also last fall, Cushman & Wakefield put the South Lake Union property on the market, unpriced. Perhaps as an aid to that effort, Gemdale and California architect LPAS recently filed a 274-unit midrise apartment plan.
