The box and paper plant appears to have closed last year. Plans filed last week call for reducing the size and renovating it for repositioning.

Paper, box and packaging companies WestRock and Smurfit Kappa combined last year to become the world's largest packaging business — measured by revenue. Smurfit was then the buyer, in a deal The Wall Street Journal valued at $11.1 billion. Plant closings and layoffs have since followed in several U.S. markets. The combined entity, with its headquarters in Ireland, now goes by Smurfit WestRock.
