Demo near U Village clears path for 96 units

The midblock site is almost directly west of the Burke-Gilman Trail.

The now 68-year-old Village Green seemed doomed last year, when the master use permit arrived for a larger replacement apartment building. The MUP came in May, and the old 18-unit building at 5115 24th Ave. N.E. was then fenced and vacant. Then, surprisingly, the fencing came down and leasing signs appeared that summer.
