Garage demo to yield 20 units?

SEATTLE — Before the pandemic, Capitol Hill saw a few infill proposals to knock down alley-side garages behind vintage red-brick apartment buildings, then to redevelop with new annex apartment buildings. None of those plans seems to have been realized.

But now we have another such scheme at the nearly century-old Regan Lee, at 603 Third Ave. W. in Lower Queen Anne. The three-story, 24-unit building sold in May to Canadian investors for a bit over $5.1 million. The sagging old 10-stall garage, on the north alley, was demolished in recent weeks.
