New on the market: An iconic little SLU survivor, with high-rise potential

The little building dates to 1911, when South Lake Union was the Cascade neighborhood.

Amazon began its invasion of South Lake Union circa 2010, with Vulcan Real Estate then at the vanguard of developers in that formerly industrial district. Hard to remember now that Paul Allen had once proposed a park there, the Seattle Commons, which voters twice rejected in the '90s. That area has been utterly transformed since then, of course, with only a few remaining undeveloped properties.
