Jefferson County takes surplus sale online

By JOURNAL STAFF

PORT TOWNSEND — It's not a large sale: $387,000 for undeveloped land near Quilcene, in Jefferson County. It's a 29-acre gravel pit, in fact, on the west side of Highway 101.

What makes the deal special, you ask? The county announced this week that it sold the property via the GovDeals online auction site.
