The building dates to 1927, when a streetcar passed on Taylor.

On the east slope of Queen Anne Hill, at a bend near Trolley Hill Park, is a picturesque little cluster of low-slung apartments, designed in the Spanish mission style that hit our region in the 1920s. (As Los Angeles boomed with the motion picture industry, that architectural flavor took hold all over the U.S.)
