With Urbal now the architect, 170 Fremont units dial in their design

The development will preserve and wrap around the landmarked north Shannon & Wilson Building, which dates to 1960.

Planning began about five years ago for a new Fremont apartment project at 3670 Woodland Park Ave. N. (That's a block west of Stone Way.) It's been a long, tough slog, because the new development will preserve and wrap around the landmarked north Shannon & Wilson Building, which dates to 1960. The regular city review process, including design review, is separate from the consideration of the city's Landmarks Preservation Board, which adds to the schedule.
