Just west of Scriber Lake Park in Lynnwood, with brokers unknown, a vacant old house and the Zainab Center mosque await sale and demolition.
The combined 1.2-acre site at 5707 198th St. S.W. is near the junction of state Route 99 and Highway 524, a little east of the Trader Joe's on 99.
Blackfish Capital and BF Design Build, both based in Seattle, are proposing a seven-story, 173-unit apartment project dubbed Apollo Scriber Lake. The city of Lynnwood noted early last month that its permit application was complete. The public comment period ended just after Christmas. The 141,416-square-foot proposal emerged last fall.
The city calls the development affordable housing, without mentioning any income restrictions. Blackfish may instead be intending the project as workforce housing. The stated timeline is to begin construction late this year, with completion in 22 months.
The Apollo Lake team also includes ACG Builds, general contractor; CG Engineering, civil and structural; Origin Design Group, landscape architect; Unity Electric, electrical engineer; Zipper Geo Associates, geotechnical engineer.
Units run from studios to two-bedrooms, in a range from about 381 to 728 square feet. Amenities include a package room, bike storage with 87 stalls and lobby lounge.
Structured parking would have 54 stalls, adding to 63 surface stalls.
