Apps open for new state rental funds

OLYMPIA — The state Department of Commerce is seeking applications to fund units for renters referred by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services under the HUD Section 811 Project Rental Assistance program. The program subsidizes rent for non-elderly people with disabling conditions.

Renters must live at eligible developments owned by non-profit, private, tribal, or public entities. The developments must have used the Washington State Housing Trust Fund, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, HOME funding, or similar local, state, or federal public capital fund source.
