With wizards and wands departed, tiny Ballard triangle could be yours

The familiar red-brick building dates to 1896.

When we last checked in on the historic little Flatiron Building, aka the Ballard Livery Building, that vacant property changed hands for $2.4 million. That was in 2018. Plans soon emerged for a pub and wand shop — yes, you read that correctly — in the heart of the red-brick Ballard Avenue Landmark District. Then the pandemic hit, the proposal was delayed, but the Splintered Wand finally opened in 2021 at 5135 Ballard Ave. N.W.
