Let's assess the market of 1976!

What else happened in 1976? The Kingdome opened!

NAIOP Washington's breakfast theme this month is “Celebrating 50 years of CRE.” That means hearing from industry veterans Jack McCullough of law firm McCullough Hill, Douglas Howe (of Howe Family Holdings and Touchstone), Lisa Picard from Oxygen Investment Management and Dan Ivanoff of Schnitzer West. A half century is a long market frame indeed! And none of our esteemed panelists were then working in the industry. But back in 1976, when Wes Uhlman was mayor, that year saw the birth of what was then dubbed the Puget Sound Chapter of the National Association of Industrial Parks ... which became NAIOP Washington! What else happened in 1976? The Kingdome opened! Also, Seattle Weekly was launched, SIFF made its debut and we elected Dixy Lee Ray as our first female governor. The Westin Seattle event takes place at 8 a.m. on Feb. 26. Details and registration: naiopwa.org
