City marks 35 years of Neighborhoods

SEATTLE — The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods (DON) is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a year-long series of community events, beginning with the launch of Neighbor Day on May 2.

Residents are encouraged to apply for Small Sparks Fund grants — up to $5,000 — by March 13, to support local Neighbor Day activities such as block parties, potlucks and cultural celebrations.
