Thai restaurant relocation signals looming land sale

Basilic’s new neighbors will include Athina, the Mecca and the pot shop in the former Blockbuster Video space.

As the DJC reported in January, Kamiak Real Estate and Public47 Architects secured their master use permit for a seven-story, 218-unit apartment project to replace a row of Uptown restaurants once anchored by Bamboo Garden. The latter closed during the pandemic; it was long run by the Woo family, which owns most of the nearly half-block assemblage. Berkadia is the broker.
