Gut reno underway on Jackson for new nonprofit hub

The building sold in 2019, then the pandemic delayed the renovation.

Not long before the pandemic, a small old office building at 1426 S. Jackson St. sold to an LLC associated with the Barton Family Foundation and the separate Weld Seattle, a nonprofit. A total renovation for the vintage three-story building was then planned, but COVID-19 got in the way. A building permit was issued in 2021.
