SEATTLE — For a proposed redevelopment of the Magnolia Albertsons, Security Properties and Bumgardner Architects secured a MUP in early 2023. Their scheme called for 146 condos over a rebranded Safeway. (Albertsons owns that grocery chain, and others.) Security never bought the land, and its plan now looks to be dead.
Last week came a new six-story apartment proposal from Lake Union Partners and Runberg Architecture Group to expand the site, now going by 2520 32nd Ave. W. It would add parcels north and south of the Albertsons, creating a 46,681-square-foot assemblage, with zoning up to 55 feet. (Including affordable units would gain some height, and duck design review.)
