Shopping center in Bellevue sells for over $61M

BELLEVUE — The Evergreen Village shopping center, at 1645 140th Ave. N.E., sold this week for $61.4 million, according to King County records.

The seller was Gateway Evergreen Inc., which acquired the property for a nominal amount in a 1994 bank sale.

The buyer was GRI Evergreen LLC, which is associated with First Washington Realty and Global Retail Investors, both national firms. There's no sign of a loan. First Washington isn't a developer, and no new plans have been filed.

Brokers were not announced. The deal was worth about $517 per square foot.

Developed on about 10 acres in 1962, with two later additions, the center has about 118,692 square feet. It's in the Bel-Red region, immediately west of Highland Park.

The center is anchored by a Safeway, and counts Applebee's, MudBay, Puetz Golf and others among its tenants. JSH Properties manages the property.
