Washington Holdings out, Greystar in, with 219 Belltown units to follow

Ahead, we should see a land sale and demolition. Greystar hasn’t declared a schedule for the project.

Things have changed at 3000 Western Ave., directly east of the Olympic Sculpture Park. As the DJC reported early last year, Washington Holdings and Encore Architects then landed their MUP for a nine-story, 219-unit apartment project. There's not yet been any demolition of the old lab buildings (possibly now vacant), and Alexandria Real Estate Equities still owns the sloping corner site, at Eagle Street. Kidder Mathews is the broker, and says the property is under contract.
