New on the market after 43 years: A history-rich Ballard icon could be yours

Known sometimes as the Ballard Building, the strip along Market is home to Secret Garden Bookshop, Annie’s Art and Frame, Pie Bird Bakeshop and more.

It's always been there, at least in living memory. The century-old office and retail building at 2208 N.W. Market St. is variously known as the Ballard Building, the Ballard Block and the Ballard Eagles Building. So prominent on the corner of 22nd Avenue, it has long anchored the commercial strip on Market.
