Demand grows for self storage — but so do restrictions on developing new facilities
Assiduous students of Federal Way politics will have noted that, last fall, the city council enacted a one-year moratorium on new self-storage developments. I am not one of those students.
However, the recent $16.2 million sale of a self-storage property at 35401 Pacific Hwy. S. did catch my eye. King County recorded the sale this week. Its official name is Heated Storage at the Crossings in Federal Way. A U-Haul dealer also operates there. It's a little south of Federal Way, west of Interstate 5 and west of Pacific Highway South.
