On The Block: All about triangles

Listed this week by Westlake Associates “for the first time” is a triangle at 2404 Seventh Ave., which faces north to Denny Way. If you're driving east along the latter, you'll know it as that little parking lot next to the now vanished Elephant Car Wash. (That's now a construction site for Holland Partner Group's 616 Battery high rise, aka Sloane.)

On the triangle's east corner, where Seventh becomes Dexter Avenue North, there's that weird little round kiosk, shaped something like a lighthouse … or the Space Needle? Once home to Black Market Skates, a defunct skateboard shop, it apparently served previously as the rental office for All Star Rent-a-Car. Whether that long-gone enterprise was connected with the family owner is unclear.
