The Real Estate Adviser |
July 10, 2008
It seemed that both the number of fireworks displays and the amount boat traffic on Puget Sound were lighter than usual over the Fourth of July weekend. Even the opening of the popular Dungeness crab season during one of the busiest leisure times of the year could not offset the pinch local boaters are feeling from higher fuel costs. Families also seems to skip the luxury of fireworks as they shuffle expenses in a staccato economy.
However, a significant blow to the masses is not even a light tap to the rich. Astonishingly, it could not be a better time to be a builder of large yachts. A recent report indicates the number of mega-yachts is not only on the rise, but shipbuilders around the world are having difficulty finding enough workers to meet the demand.
