Higbee has 20 years of real estate and corporate services experience. CB Commercial also announced the promotion of Eric Cederstrand to senior associate. Cederstrand has been with CB Commercial for six years, specializing in apartment sales.

MAME award deadline today

Mary Jane Lundsgaard, 1996 MAME chairperson, announced the deadline for entries for the MAME awards is today. The MAME (Major Achievement in Market Excellence) awards program, to be held Sept. 21, in now in its 13th year. Its purpose is to honor the important contributions of builders, architects, land planners, interior merchandisers, suppliers, technical tradespeople, advertising and other facets of the homebuilding industry. Leadership Tomorrow, a nationally recognized civic leadership training program has announced the newly appointed officers and trustees to the Board of Directors. Seattle Mortgage Company

Seattle Mortgage Company (SMC) has purchased Bayview Mortgage, a brokerage company that will allow SMC to grant non-conforming loans. Seattle Mortgage Company's new Specialty Products Division will offer alternative financing options. The division will work both as an entity of Seattle Mortgage and as a retail outlet operating as a direct lender originating both conforming and non-conforming loans.

TLC2

The formation of a new real estate joint venture was announced by principals of two area firms. Scott Cameron, managing broker of The Lakemont Co., and William J. Riss, president of The Landover Corporation, parent company of Coldwell Banker Bain Associates, announced they are establishing TLC2, providing sales and marketing programs for master planned communities and large tract subdivisions in the tri-county region. Headquarters for the TLC2 joint venture will be in Issaquah.

Coldwell Banker

Three Coldwell Banker Bain real estate agents were named among the top 10 sales associates in the state for their gross commission income in the first quarter of 1996. One of the three earned the Number One ranking in two categories. Earning the rare double distinction was Faye Torgerson, division manager for Coldwell Banker Bain Project Services. She was top agent for listings sold and for closed revenue units. Also in the top 10 were Elisabeth Finch and Shirley Lake, both of the Coldwell Banker Bain Mercer Island office. The Mercer Island office of Coldwell Banker Bain Associates has taken a top statewide award and a top regional award for productivity in the first quarter of 1996. The Bellevue office of Coldwell Bain Associates has taken top awards for productivity in the first quarter of 1996. Bobbi Reynolds joined the sales team at Coldwell Banker Plateau Real Estate in Enumclaw.

Homebuyer education seminars

Accredited free five-hour homebuyer education seminars are now offered by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. The seminars are taught by certified instructors. They include information on selecting loans, household budgeting, home maintenance, types of assistance programs available to first-time homebuyers, default prevention and general lending practices. Free workbooks and materials are provided through an agreement with local Private Mortgage Insurance Companies.
