Norris, Beggs & Simpson

Matthew J. Wood and Christopher L. Hughes have joined Norris, Beggs & Simpson as brokers in the industrial leasing division of the Puget Sound office. Both formerly worked at Cushman & Wakefield. Wood has been named an associate vice president. Hughes is a sales associate. Their photos were misidentified in the March 27 edition of the Journal.

Pinnacle

James C. Palzer has been named vice president of the Northwest Region of Pinnacle Realty Management Co., not president as stated here last week. Ward McLain remains as president. Also at Pinnacle, Robert Hold has been named president of the company's Southeast Region, including Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee. Hold previously served as president of the South Atlantic Region, which has been merged into a new Southeast Region. Within that region, Pinnacle manages 14,200 multifamily housing units and 4.5 million square feet of commercial property.

Genstar

Lori Henriksen has joined Genstar Land Company Northwest as the community relations specialist for Eagle Ridge, a master-planned community of 2,000 units in southwest Spokane. She has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and management.

Trammell Crow

Jeffrey M. Sackett has joined the Portland office of Trammell Crow Co. as vice president of development. He will be project manager for the 120-acre Bechtel/Trammell Crow joint venture at the Portland International Center, which is associated with the airport light rail line. Sackett also will develop projects for eight clients he brought from Triangle Development Co. Sacket is the former owner of Triangle. His assistant there, Kate Madden, also has joined Trammell Crow.

Community Home Ownership Center

The Community Home Ownership Association, a non-profit group that provides services to first-time homebuyers statewide, has elected new officers: David King, president; Paula Benson, vice president; Gretchen Bruce, secretary; Jim Boudreau, treasurer. On May 1, Carol Gipson will join CHOC as executive director. She is a real estate professional from Berkeley, Calif.

ConAm buys Everett apartments

The ConAm Group of Companies, San Diego, Calif., has purchased the Silver Lake Heights apartments in Everett. The 200-unit property is in the Silver Lake neighborhood of south Everett and features one, two and three-bedroom units of 525 to 1,170 square feet. ConAm plans to spend about $1.2 million to renovate the property, which is nine years old. Work will include interior and exterior upgrades to the apartment units, plus improvements to the community's pools and other amenities. The work will take 24 months. ConAm is seeking similar properties. The company owns roughly 20,000 apartment units nationwide, and manages another 50,000.

NAIOP meeting on waterfront development

At the April 15 membership breakfast of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, to be held at 7 a.m. in the Washington State Convention and Trade Center, speakers will present updates on Seattle's waterfront overhaul. John Nordby, of Wright Runstad & Co., will discuss the World Trade Center. Fred Grimm, of Triad Development, will describe his Pier 70 redevelopment. Don Audleman, president of the board of directors of the Seattle Aquarium Society, will speak on the aquarium expansion. Forum '98 conference, show

Forum '98, the sixth annual Northwest educational conference and trade show on commercial building management, leasing and sales, will be held April 15 in the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. Seminar on crime prevention
