Be There Now

Peter B. Truex has joined Be There Now, as executive vice president of real estate sales. Be There Now provides Internet-based, interactive, three- dimensional viewsets of real property assets.

Windermere Real Estate

Garby Ouillette and Linda Maly have joined Windermere's Magnolia office in Seattle as associate broker and sales associate, respectively. Both had worked at John L. Scott's Lakeside office. Joyce Edmundson has joined Windermere's Mount Baker office in Seattle. She previously worked at Gem Realty in Seattle.

Community Reinvestment Association

The Washington Community Reinvestment Association assisted in developing 56 new units of affordable housing in 1998, benefiting low-income families and individuals in Seattle. WCRA is a nonprofit banking consortium of 33 financial institutions that provide permanent financing and technical assistance to affordable housing developers in the state. Since its inception in 1992, WCRA has provided $114 million in funding and commitments and has created or preserved 4,461 affordable and special-needs housing units. Seattle projects include the 48-unit Scargo Hotel, 2205 First Ave., and the eight-unit Columbia Hotel, 4900 Rainier Ave. S.

Snoqualmie Ridge builders selected

Snoqualmie Ridge developers have selected William Buchan Homes, Preswick and Sherlock Homes to construct 15 houses beginning this spring. The house sizes will range from 4,000 to 5,000 square feet and prices will start at $750,000.

Cam West

Cam West Development has opened a sales office for a residential plat in the Totem Lake area of Kirkland, at 132nd Avenue Northeast and Northeast 135th Street. Cambridge Heights, when completed, will consist of 48 single-family houses ranging from 2,100 square feet to 2,850 square feet. The two-story, three and four bedroom units are priced from $300,000. Cam West, of Bellevue, is currently involved in construction of three other new communities, including Lake Youngs in Renton, Hawksmoor in Bellevue, and Park Ridge in Lynnwood.

Real estate training seminars

Mortgage Market of Lake Oswego, Ore., will sponsor the Institute for Real Estate Success training seminars for 1999. Courses will be conducted in Washington, Oregon and Utah covering topics such as real estate law, finance, advanced real estate negotiations, new construction, fair housing and environmental controls. CB Richard Ellis

Brian Adams has been promoted to first vice president at CB Richard Ellis. He has been with the Bellevue office for 14 years and specializes in industrial and high-tech sales and leasing on the Eastside, including work with Opus Northwest on the planning and leasing of Willows Commerce Park in Redmond.

Mortgage Equities

Sanford J. Lindstrom has been appointed executive vice president of Mortgage Equities of Seattle. Lindstrom's experience includes managing a $3.5 billion fixed-income portfolio as chief investment officer for Merrill Lynch Life Insurance.

Keller Williams Realty

Karen McKnight has joined Keller Williams Realty's Bellevue office. She has 15 years' real estate experience, having worked for The Heller Co., and Windermere Real Estate.

Kidder Mathews & Segner

Rick Osterhout and Stan Snow have joined the Seattle office of Kidder Mathews & Segner. They will specialize in industrial and office properties, user representation and investments.

Windermere Real Estate

Windermere has added sales associates Helen Pinel to the Sand Point office and Gabriel Rosenshine to the Capitol Hill office. Previously, Pinel managed Americas Tours & Travel and Rosenshine worked for Home Realty, both in Seattle. Windermere Education, the training arm of Windermere Real Estate, is offering the Senior Advantage Real Estate Marketing Program, designed to educate real estate sales associates on America's fastest growing segment of property owners. Re/Max International

Re/Max International set new records in 1998 for franchise sales and agent growth. The Denver-based firm ended the year with 531 franchise sales, a 39 percent increase over 1997, and picked up 4,624 sales associates, a 9.6 percent gain.

Seattle Mortgage

Seattle Mortgage recently arranged $2.65 million in permanent financing for the 100-unit Olympic View Apartments in SeaTac and $1.25 million in permanent financing for the 40-unit Brighton Court Apartments in Lynnwood. Loan officer John Henkle closed both projects.

North Coast Mortgage

North Coast Mortgage, a subsidiary of L.J. Melody & Co., has arranged $11 million in permanent financing for Eagle Hardware in Bellevue. Jim Starman of L.J. Melody's Pittsburgh office represented the borrower, Keystone Capitol Co. The loan was placed with Nationwide Life Insurance Co., through Lois Townsend of the Seattle office of North Coast Mortgage.
