Opus Northwest

John Gordon has been promoted to director of construction and Bruce Marshall has been appointed construction superintendent by Opus Northwest. Marshall currently is working on tenant improvements at Opus' Glacier Cascade Park in Tukwila. He has 20 years' construction experience.

Kidder Mathews & Segner

Quadrant has named Larry Blackett and Chris Moe of Kidder, Mathews & Segner listing brokers for the Quadrant I-5 Corporate Park, a 14-acre master-planned business and office park in South Snohomish County. Currently, 71,000 square feet is available for lease in Building B of the park.

LandAmerica Financial Group

LandAmerica Financial Group has opened a national commercial services office in Portland at 111 S.W. Fifth Ave. LandAmerica's NCS division specializes in coordinated title and real estate-related services on single and multi-site commercial transactions nationwide. Patricia Parsons, vice president and manager, will spearhead the new Portland operation. She previously was with First American Title Insurance Co. Gisel Hillner will serve the new office as vice president of national sales. Carol Mastrofini is the legal counsel and escrow officer. Kelly Johonson is the escrow assistant. And Alan O'Leary is special projects coordinator.

Crown West Realty

Crown West Realty has announced that Scholastic Book Fairs will relocate its Spokane distribution facility to the Spokane Business and Industrial Park. The company has leased 13,270 square feet. The increased volume of books distributed to area schools made it necessary to move to a larger facility, the company said.

Real Estate Commission

Gov. Gary Locke has named Cindy White, former president of the Washington Association of Realtors, to the state Real Estate Commission. She was WAR president in 1996 and is the owner/broker of White Investment Properties in Bellingham. She was appointed to a six-year term on the commission and takes over for David D. Kent Jones, who decided not to seek reappointment.

Frank Nardo

Frank Nardo, a Realtor instructor and president of Prudential Preferred Properties in King and Snohomish counties, died last month of complications related to pneumonia. He was 50. He was the Washington Association of Realtors' year 2000 vice president-elect for education and a member of the year 2000 Executive Committee. And he was the WAR director representing the Snohomish-Camano Association of Realtors. Lynnwood Mortgage

Nancy Carmen and Susan Youngberg of Lynnwood Mortgage Corp.'s Everett branch were among 50 nominees statewide for a 1999 Friend of Housing Award by the state Housing Commission. The award is for those who contribute to providing affordable housing to lower- and moderate-income residents. Carmen and Youngberg teach state bond classes for first-time home buyers. Hills Design Group

Rebecca Ettlin has joined Hills Design Group as a senior designer. Ettlin was formerly director of interior design for a mid-sized architectural firm. Since joining Hills Design, she has designed an interior remodel of the lobby and other public spaces at Kruse Woods II, owned by Spieker Properties.

Based in Portland, Hills Design Group provides space planning, interior design, cost estimating, construction documentation and project management services to private developers and public agencies.
