Bellevue Community College

The Bellevue Community College Foundation has added four new members to its board of directors. They are: Virginia Allison, a retiree who volunteers for the Seattle Repertory Theater; Ronald Brown, a self-employed real estate investor; Glenn Johnson, vice president for Horizon Air/Regional Airline, and Toni Richmond, a volunteer currently active with the Seattle Repertory Theatre, College Baseball Classic, Treehouse Foundation Advisory Board and Seattle Art Museum.

TCI Advertising Sales

TCI Advertising Sales has appointed Penny L. Taylor to the new position of regional vice president in charge of all ad sales operations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. The new regional headquarters will be in Seattle. Taylor was formerly general manager of Northwest Cable Advertising in Seattle, a joint-venture of TCI and Viacom. The move is part of TCI's nation-wide reorganization and enlargement of advertising operations. Taylor is one of nine regional vice presidents announced recently by the Denver-based company.

Nitze-Stagen & Co., Inc.

Kevin Daniels has been named executive vice president and made a principal in Nitze-Stagen & Co., Inc., a real estate development and property management firm based in Seattle. Daniels' responsibilities include acquisition, finance, development and asset management for Nitze-Stagen's West Coast real estate holdings and management contracts. Nitze-Stagen's property management division manages over three million square feet in the Puget Sound area and Northern California. Daniels has been with Nitze-Stagen & Co. since 1987. He is certified public accountant and graduated from Gonzaga University.

Grossmith joins RMIC

The Republic Mortgage Insurance Company (RMIC) has announced that Lars Grossmith has join its team as underwriting manager for its Seattle office. Grossmith formerly served as a branch manager for a major San Diego lender. Additionally, Grossmith gained underwriting, risk analysis, and account management experience while working with another mortgage insurer for more than decade. Grossmith received his bachelor's degree in economics from San Diego State University and his MBA degree from California State University at Dominguez Hills. RMIC, a national mortgage insurer, is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Lorier Homes

John Barker, of the Brentwood Group, has been named the community sales manager for Lorier Homes' newest community of Si View in North Bend. Barker is a recipient of the MAME $8 million Sales Volume Award for 1995. Lorier Homes has been building new homes in the Puget Sound Area for over 32 years.

NVRB elects Greenleaf

James A. Greenleaf has been elected to membership in the National Valuation Review Board (NVRB). In order to be considered for membership in the NVRB, real estate professionals must have over 10 years of experience in real estate and experience in investment-grade property. The board's mission is to create a national standard of excellence for the review of real estate appraisal and analysis reports. It acts as a clearing house for review and mediation by an independent pool of national real estate experts. Greenleaf, president of Greenleaf Valuation Group, Inc., has been providing real estate appraisal research and consulting throughout Western Washington since 1975.

Coldwell Banker

Six Coldwell Banker/Bain associates have earned Coldwell Banker State Awards. Kay Clark was named the number-one sales associate in the state of Washington for gross commission income. Faye Torgerson was named the number-one associate in listings sold, as well as being among the top ten in total units in the state. Terry Allen, Molly Penny and Marlene Fallquist were named among the top ten in gross commission income. Irene Harvitz was named among the top ten in buyer controlled sales and top ten in total units in the third quarter of 1995. The Coldwell Banker/Bain Bellevue office was named number one in gross commission income, total units, buyer controlled sales and in listings sold in Washington for the third quarter for Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates. The Bellevue office also ranked among the top five in gross commission income in the 51+ sales associate category in the Western Region of Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates. The Mercer Island office was named among the top five in gross commission income in the state for the third quarter of 1995 for Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates. The Mercer Island office was also ranked among the top five in gross commission income in the 21 to 35 sales associate category in the Western Region of Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates. The Westlake office was named among the top five in gross commission income in the state for the third quarter of 1995.

Seattle Mortgage

Seattle Mortgage employee Mary Allessio in now in charge of project underwriting for condominiums. This service provides builders and developers the opportunity to get their projects FHA, Fannie Mae and VA approved through SMC. Condominium project underwriting takes place with both existing apartment complexes being converted to condos and newly built projects. SMC's part in these condo projects entails getting the condos approved by different lenders and often involves a construction loan as well as purchase loans form condo sales. Allessio will be initiating contracts for SMC with the company in charge of the condo project. Then once approval is issued, the condos will be presold prior to completion of the project. Allessio will track these sales, and make sure the project is completed and legally recorded.

FHA 203k loan workshop

A free workshop is being offered by the Mountlake Terrace branch of Continental Mortgage Co. on the FHA 203K Rehab and Remodel loan. This loan allows one to make repairs or improvements to an existing home and roll the cost of the work done into a low interest home mortgage. The workshop will be taught by Dan Roach and Paul Rogers, loan officers at the Mountlake Terrace branch who specialize in FHA 203 loans.
