The South Seattle Community College (SSCC) Foundation has named Rob Wunder and Peggy Cullor to its Foundation Board. Wunder owns a real estate appraising business. Cullor has been involved with the college in various capacities over the last 20 years.

Kent-based Sun Sportswear, an apparel screen printer of casual sportswear, has appointed Sandy Teufel as senior vice president of sales and merchandising for the combined women's/girl's and the men's/boy's sales divisions. Teufel has been with the company for seven years, most recently as senior vice president of the women's/girl's division. The company has also announced several elements of a restructuring plan geared toward improving profitability. Steps include downsizing administrative areas, increasing the use of automated manufacturing processes, instituting production incentives and reorganizing the sourcing and quality assurance functions. Sun will immediately eliminate approximately 30 indirect positions from its employee work force.
Alan S. Middleton has been named partner at Davis Wright Tremaine. Middleton, a general commercial litigation attorney in the firm's Seattle office, focuses his litigation practice in the areas of banking, construction, real estate, land use and intellectual property. Davis Wright Tremaine is a national law firm with more than 270 attorneys in 11 offices.
Attorneys Julie M. Azevedo, Thomas M. Hansen, Celeste A. McDonell and Allison G. Pettit have joined the law firm of Betts Patterson & Mines, in Seattle. Azevedo concentrates her practice in insurance defense and insurance coverage litigation. She is licensed to practice in California and Washington, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Eastern District of California, and the Western District of Washington. Hansen practices real estate, real property and contracts law. McDonell, a 1981 graduate of the Seattle University School of Law, focuses her practice on family law and estate planning. Pettit, concentrates her practice in general litigation and business law. Betts Patterson & Mines is a Seattle law firm of 34 attorneys which provides legal services with an emphasis on civil litigation, insurance, business and tax law.

Ken Harding and Todd Peterson have joined the Seattle branch of Continental Mortgage Company. Harding and Peterson will both handle a variety of permanent home loan programs. Harding formerly worked at Pediatric Software, a Colorado-based software company. He joined Continental Mortgage as a marketing manager in 1993 and later transferred to Seattle to set up operations in the Pacific Northwest. Harding also previously owned his own contractor business and specialized in home remodeling. Peterson brings a background in the building industry, and most recently specialized in marketing and land acquisitions at First Edition Homes, a Mercer Island builder of luxury custom homes. Peterson joined Harbour Homes in 1989 as a customer service manager. He later moved to Portland and opened the Harbour Homes Portland branch, where he served as regional manager until he joined First Edition Homes.

Jeffrey S. Lyon, vice president and associate broker with Kidder Mathews & Segner, Inc.-ONCOR International has been awarded the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) designation. Currently, only 28 commercial real estate agents in the state hold the SIOR designation.
The Lakemont Company has added two new associate brokers, Craig Paulson and Loren Feldman, to its sales team. Paulson has over four years of real estate experience and was named the 1993 MAME rookie of the Year, an award given by the Master Builders Association. Feldman was an on-site sales associate for the Lakemont Community and won a MAME Sales Volume Achievement Award in 1995. The Lakemont Company is a small independent real estate brokerage firm catering to upper-end home buyers and home builders in Bellevue.
La Croisette, a contemporary clothing store for women and children, has opened at Kirkland Parkplace next to Ooh La La. Kirland Parkplace is located on the corner of Sixth and Central in downtown Kirkland.
Berkshire Mortgage Finance and G.P. Realty Finance have annouced the closing of a $5.5 million loan to refinance Farrington Court Retirement Community in Kent at a 10-year fixed rate of 7.385 percent. Constructed in 1971 as a four-building apartment complex, Farrington Court Retirement Community was renovated in 1984 as a congregate care facility connecting the four buildings. The facility now consists of 121 units. Berkshire Mortgage Finance provides real estate financing nationwide and manages a $2.5 billion multifamily and healthcare loan portfolio.
Rush Construction Co. will build homes at Northwest Landing, a 3,000-arce, mixed-use development at DuPont. The Gig Harbor builder joins three other companies already selling homes in the community. Rush Construction will build 30 homes in a newly opened division on Palisade Boulevard, Northwest Landing's main residential arterial. The homes will be detached single-family residences designed in the Craftsman style. Ramblers and two-story styles will include neotraditional elements like garages behind homes and porches in front. Preliminary plans show a range of sizes from 1,300 to 2,000 square feet, priced from $130,000 to $170,000.
Windermere Real Estate announces the addition of nine associates: Associate broker Ronald Turner and sales associate Debbie Loop have joined the West Seattle/Fauntleroy office. Judy Talley joined the Madison Park office as a sales associate. Sales associate Vic Newhard joins the Northeast office with 11 years of real estate experience. Kristen Goulding has joined Builder Services as a sales associate. Susan Gerend joins the Bellevue South office with three years experience. Sales associates Joyce Roberts and James Lee have joined the Bellevue Commons office. Kristy Jacobs has joined the West Seattle office as a sales associate. Sales associate Rhonda Wilton has joined the Federal Way office.

American Capital Resource, Inc., has announced the funding of a $10.2 million refinance of the Branch Villa Health Care Facility in Seattle. It is the first loan commitment insured by the Seattle office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under its new 232/223(f) program. The program provides refinancing to existing nursing homes and assisted living facilities for both profit-motivated and non-profit sponsors. The purpose of this new program is to provide attractive long term fixed financing to these types of facilities and interest rates lower than conventional sources of mortgage capital.
Della Sherwood, Jean Leeper and Randy Hicks have joined Coldwell Banker Plateau Real Estate in Enumclaw. Coldwell Banker Plateau Real Estate is moving across the street to a new building under construction at 2820 Griffin Avenue in Enumclaw. The move is expected to take place by the first of April.
