Seattle Mortgage Co. hired two employees: Douglas J. MacLeod, eastern correspondent manager, and Steven Evans, reverse division trainer. MacLeod was national sales manager of Radian Guaranty Insurance and worked as an independent reverse mortgage consultant. Evans has worked in client relations, leading client training seminars in the United States, Canada and England. Seattle Mortgage and its affiliates have been offering reverse mortgages since 1995.
Engineering News Record named Matt Griffin, managing partner of the Pine Street Group in Seattle, one of its Top 25 Newsmakers of 2006. Griffin was recognized for his work on the 42-story tower for Washington Mutual and the Seattle Art Museum. The Pine Street Group developed the WaMu/SAM project in conjunction with the Seneca Real Estate Group, Seattle. The office space is complete. The initial phase of the SAM expansion will open in the spring.
The topic of the February program for REAPS (Real Estate Association of Puget Sound) is “Confessions of a Real Estate Entrepreneur” with James A. Randel, an author, attorney, broker and investor as the speaker. It will be Thursday, Feb. 22, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Kane Hall on the University of Washington campus. The Commercial Real Estate Education Forum 2007 will be held March 20 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Washington Convention and Trade Center in Seattle. It includes a trade show and cocktail reception, and is sponsored by CBA, CCIM, CREW, IREM, NAIOP and the Washington Realtors and WSCAR. Topics will include updates on the economy, legal issues, business ethics and a look at how some big developments have changed their communities. Coast Real Estate Services recently entered into a property management and leasing services agreement for the Bank of Everett Tower, 2722 Colby Ave., Everett. The 90,000-square-foot building was renovated after changing ownership last year. The Bank of Everett is the largest tenant.
“Boomers, Gen-Xs, Millennials: How Generations Affect Business” is the topic of the Feb. 21 meeting of the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks at the Bell Harbor Conference Center on Alaskan Way in Seattle. The meeting starts at 7 a.m. with registration and networking. The speaker is Kip Lilly, a consultant and business management trainer, who will look at how the business world is going to change with the aging of these generations.
