Hendricks & Partners named David Young one of its Top Five Producers nationally in 2006. Young closed 13 multifamily transactions in the Seattle market and nationwide during the year, valued at over $471 million including Overlook at Lakemont in Bellevue for more than $63 million and Stonehaven at West Campus in Federal Way for more than $58 million. He has been a Washington real estate broker since 1989 and is West Coast director of the firm's new Institutional Apartment Group.
Needham, Mass.-based CWCapital, a lender to the multifamily and commercial real estate industries, promoted David Crook to senior vice president and regional director for its West Coast capital markets originations. Since its inception in March 2005, the West Coast team has originated more than $800 million in fixed and floating rate debt.
The Seattle chapter of the Appraisal Institute named Jim McGowan, president of McGowan Appraisal Services in Tacoma, as Appraiser of the Year for 2006. The award is for his service and dedication to the institute. He has been an associate member since 1986. He formed McGowan Appraisal Services in 1995.

Andrew Patterson recently joined Norris, Beggs & Simpson Financial Services' Seattle office as a financial analyst. He will help with the loan process by researching property history, tenant history and the market. He also underwrites, reviews and analyzes loans. Patterson was a business development manager with Harvey Nash in Seattle. Norris, Beggs & Simpson provides commercial real estate capital to borrowers and investors in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Nevada.
Seattle-based Emeritus Corp, a national provider of assisted-living and dementia care services, purchased 12 communities currently leased by the company for approximately $101.6 million. The communities have 786 units and are in five states. Emeritus operates 203 communities in 35 states.
Teams from the University of Washington, Washington State University, the University of British Columbia and Portland State University will compete at the 4th Annual Pacific Northwest Real Estate Challenge March 29 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seattle. This year's project is the King County Administration building. Four student teams will present to a panel of judges and then to the general audience.
