Seattle-based developer DSB Investments bought the Glacier View Apartments at 5904 Highway Pl. in Everett for $1.12 million, or $86,000 per unit. The 13-unit complex was built in 1969 and renovated in 2009. The company said it has purchased 100 units for approximately $7.2 million since the third quarter of 2012. DSB represented itself and Saint Newton of Paragon Real Estate Advisors represented the seller, a private investor.
Gardnerglobal Inc. has started a new company, Onpoint Real Estate Services LLC, which is an independent, boutique brokerage. The company will handle property management, consulting and brokerage services. The company recently hired Damon McGruder to be a designated broker. McGruder has 15 years of experience as a designated broker and broker trainer. He was previously a real estate contracting officer at the Federal Aviation Administration. He has also worked as a managing broker for two regional firms.
Bentall Kennedy was named the Energy Star Partner of the Year for the Seattle and Toronto regions. The Toronto-based company was given a sustained excellence award for its commitment to new energy efficiency goals throughout its portfolio. The real estate investment advisor has more than 500 clients with commercial space valued at $29 billion, including $8.4 billion in the U.S.
Washington D.C.-based Madison Marquette Real Estate named Tory Glossip senior general manager for the Washington portfolio. Glossip will oversee six Washington properties, which total more than 1.3 million square feet, in Seattle, Issaquah, Lynnwood and Lake Forest Park. Prior to joining Madison Marquette in 2007, Glossip was a property manager for Alliance Residential.

Steve Yoon has joined Wood Partners' Northwest regional office as vice president of development. Yoon was a senior development manager for Harbor Urban in Seattle and its predecessor company, Harbor Properties. He managed several construction projects and stabilized residential assets. He has eight years of experience in the real estate industry. Atlanta-based Wood Partners started 5,000 units in 21 complexes nationwide last year. In Seattle, Wood is building a 27-story, 298-unit complex at 225 Cedar St. in Belltown. Wood Partners said it hopes to break ground on a second project in the Puget Sound region this year.
Bellevue-based Allen Brackett Shedd has merged with 41 other appraisal firms to form Valbridge Property Advisors. The new company says it is one of the three largest commercial real estate valuation and advisory firms in the country. Murray Brackett, Darin Shedd and Greg Goodman lead the Bellevue office. Valbridge is based in Naples, Fla., and it has 600 staff members in 59 locations.
Churchill Mortgage will open its first branch in Washington with a location in Gig Harbor. Tane Cabe, who has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, will run the new office. Cabe was the managing director at Security One Lending, and managed his own mortgage company for 11 years. Churchill Mortgage is based in Brentwood, Tenn., and has branches in 26 states.
Vulcan Real Estate announced two fitness companies, Heroics and The Fitness Outlet, are moving into its properties in South Lake Union. Heroics will open this summer at 2200 Westlake Ave. N., offering personal training and life coaching services. It has been in Bellevue since 2008. The Fitness Outlet has opened at 251 Yale Ave. N. in the Alley24 building. It sells treadmills, elliptical trainers, pilates equipment and weight machines. The South Lake Union location is the company's seventh store, with two in California and four others in Washington, including Bellevue and Tacoma.
