UW's Hec Ed is ready for another 75-year run
Hec Edmundson Pavilion has been a part of Husky athletics for three-quarters of a century, and with the current renovation, it will be ready to go for another 75 years.



Who the heck is Hec?
Clarence "Hec" Edmundson was the winningest coach in UW men's basketball history, with a 488-195 record over his 27-year basketball coaching career. He also coached the UW track and field team for 36 years and tapped his track background on the basketball court, originating the fast-break style of play.



Rehabbed arena is designed for the future while still respecting the past
A complete reconfiguration of the arena interior has created an intimate basketball arena for almost 10,000 spectators.



Robots help with demolition
The historic brick exterior had to be preserved without a nick, even though the inside was gutted to a shell.



Universities spend big to earn more
Renovations to Hec Edmundson Pavilion are part of a $95 million project to create a village-style athletic complex on the UW campus. The projects are intended to keep the university's athletic programs competitive in the Pac-10 conference.
