ProVideo Productions has recently completed the projects including the video documentation of Harborview Hospital construction for Kaplan/McLaughlin/Diaz, Inc.; a cancer research inter-cellular time lapse animated video for Dr. Sigrid Myrdal at Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute in Seattle; a corporate identification and recruiting video for Qpoint Home Mortgage Loans; and a marketing/fund raising video for Rotary's Operation First Harvest, a nonprofit agency that gathers surplus food to distribute to area food banks. Located in Seattle, ProVideo produces video programs ranging from one-camera documentation to major training and sales videos and broadcast-level productions.

Seattle-based Toll Free Cellular is launching the nation's first toll and airtime-free service for cellular telephone users. As a result the company has hired Wilfred James and Karen Kempton as network implementation managers. They will each work with designated wireless carriers to implement the technical capabilities required to offer free cellular calling.

WRQ

WRQ has released Reflection Secure 5.2, a new version of the company's software that implements the Kerberos V5 protocol for secure end-to-end user authentication. The new version adds support for Windows 95 and Windows NT to the existing Windows 3.1x product. When running on a PC with other Reflection host connectivity products, Reflection Secure provides secure Telnet access to UNIX, Digital and HP host computers in a networked environment. As a client of Kerberso V5 or DCE (distributed computing environment) security servers, Reflection Secure eliminates the need to send passwords over a network and protects against unauthorized use. Reflection Secure works with version 5.2 of Reflection 1 (HP hosts), Reflection 2 (VT420/Telnet), and Reflection 4 (VT420/Telnet and Digital graphics). WRQ's corporate offices are located in Seattle.

Melissa Tietje has joined Otak, Inc. of Kirkland as a CAD technician. She has over 15 years of technical experience within a wide range of disciplines, and was previously owner of TG CAD, a consulting firm. Gretchen Kallenberger has joined Otak as a landscape architectural intern. She will be working in Otak's Kirkland office for one year as a part of an internship program through Purdue University. Otak has participated in Purdue's landscape architecture intern program for the past two years and Kallenberger is the fourth Purdue student to be placed at Otak.

WRQ has announced its new market development group. The market development group is responsible for developing strategic alliances, pursuing OEM (original equipment manufacturer) relationships and assisting with the evaluation/acquisition of technologies for WRQ. Craig Schmidt, director of market development, will oversee the five member team. The will consist of: Dave Juran, market development manager, in charge of evolving and managing strategic and OEM relationship with operating system vendors; Chris Crane, market development manager, in charge of developing and managing strategic and OEM relationships with mainframe hardware and software vendors and consulting firms/systems integrators; Sue Lewis, market development manager, responsible for building and managing strategic partnerships for WRQ in the hardware vendor area; Mark Oppfelt, market development specialist, responsible for evolving and building strategic alliances in the vertical market area. Headquartered in Redmond, WRQ makes PC software that connects personal computer users to enterprise computers and information networks.
