CDi

Gary Nakano has joined CDi Mechanical Engineers as a project engineer. He was with Johnson Controls for 30 years as a senior controls engineer and field manager and was most recently a project engineer for Wood/Harbinger Consulting Engineers. Chris Johnson has also joined the firm as a project engineer. He was previously with Wood/Harbinger, where he served as project manger for a variety of military housing and university remodel projects. Cory Schifferl has joined CDi as a CAD designer. He was formerly with Abacus Engineers Systems for 10 years.

Redd Becker has been promoted to director of sales and customer support at ScenicSoft, Inc. located in Everett. Becker will be responsible for the overall management of the sales, marketing and technical support efforts for the company's Everett and Brussels, Belgium offices. ScenicSoft develops imposition software for the pre-press and printing industry.

Metapath

Bellevue-based Metapath Software Corporation, a telecommunications software provider, will begin selling and supporting its products in Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. Bob Christensen will act as director of Asia Pacific sales. Metapath has also announced the opening of its subsidiary in Windsor, United Kingdom. Andrew Gadsby has been appointed European technical director.

State housing market mixed

According to a recent study by the Washington Center for Real Estate Research at Washington State University, the state saw a housing sales rate 8.2 percent higher in the first part of 1997 than in the first six months of 1996. But most of that growth occurred in the greater Seattle area. Just over half of the state's 39 counties reported increases in home sales during the first quarter, with Grays Harbor, San Juan, Wahkiakum and Ferry counties showing the biggest gains. The largest volume, however, was in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, where Microsoft and Boeing are strong engines for growth.

Pure Audio

Steven Heinke has joined Seattle-based Pure Audio as sound designer/senior engineer, where his responsibilities will include digital sound design for commercial post-production projects. Pure Audio, formerly MacDonald Recording, provides audio production and sound design for television, radio, film and new media.

Entros

This Friday, Entros will unveil a new menu and three new games at its "intelligent amusement park" in Seattle. The changes are part of the company's focus on providing a unique dinner party experience. The new menu, designed by executive chef John McNabb, offer diners a "shareable feast," with most items portioned for two or more. The new games include a high-touch parlor game experience called the Red Room, a larger-than-life Prize Wheel, and a new version of Entros' multimedia gameshow, The Blender.

Brigadoon.com

Bellevue-based Brigadoon.com, a full-service internet service company, has been awarded the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce's 1997 Emerging Business Innovation Award.

InControl

Redmond-based InControl, Inc. has promoted Phillip Foshee, Jr. to vice president of Design Engineering. Foshee will oversee the management and direction of hardware, software and mechanical engineering for the company. InControl Inc. develops new therapies for atrial rhythm management and is working with medical researchers worldwide to advance the treatment of atrial fibrillation.
